FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky has launched a statewide challenge to switch 1000’s of roadway lights with power saving LED lights. Kentucky’s Transportation Cupboard stated the upgrades will scale back power consumption of roadway lighting methods by greater than 50%. They are saying the challenge will save greater than $2.eight million a 12 months in utility and upkeep prices. Greater than 18,000 lights shall be changed with power environment friendly LED lights on some state-maintained roads throughout Kentucky. The challenge consists of changing underground lighting within the Cochrane Tunnel in Jefferson County and the Cumberland Hole Tunnel in Bell County. It’s anticipated to be full by early 2022.
